Responsabilities

Meal Preparation & Service:
  • Prepare two multi-course meals daily (lunch and dinner) for the employer and their family.
  • Design and present menus that include a variety of international cuisines, with a strong emphasis on traditional Italian cuisine.
  • Vegetarian options must always be available for two family members.
  • Ensure the breakfast selection is prepared in advance, including homemade bread, pastries, and fresh options.
  • Regularly provide snacks and special treats such as cakes, madeleines, and fresh fruit platters.
  • Create written menu proposals in advance, coordinated with the butler.
  • Ensure that high-quality, fresh, and organic ingredients are used in all meal preparations.
  • Maintain a well-stocked kitchen with ready-to-eat meals and snacks.
Hygiene & Kitchen Maintenance:
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of food, including vacuum sealing and freezing where necessary.
  • Oversee thorough daily cleaning of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, refrigerators, and floors.
  • Conduct periodic deep cleaning of kitchen storage areas, cabinets, and appliances.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and professional kitchen attire at all times.
Purchasing & Supplier Relations:
  • Maintain and update a detailed list of preferred suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure the best quality and value.
  • Visit local markets daily, if possible, to source the freshest ingredients.
  • Manage inventory and stock levels to prevent waste and over-purchasing.
  • Provide monthly expense reports detailing all purchases.
Employee Meals:
  • Prepare meals for household staff on working days, including when the employer is away.

You

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef in high-end households.
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines, especially Italian and vegetarian dishes.
  • High level of creativity and initiative in menu planning and presentation.
  • Exceptional hygiene and food safety awareness.
  • Experience with organic and farm-to-table cooking preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, yet collaborate within a household team.
  • Flexibility in work hours and days off (non-fixed schedule).
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 50% of the time).
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (French/Italian) are a plus.
